The Sustainable Atelier
Emmy Kasbit is a sustainable brand and atelier, founded on the 20th of January 2014 by Emmanuel Okoro who is the Creative Director alongside his business Partner and Co-owner – Daniel Olurin who is the Chief Executive Officer.
Our mission as a business and brand is to preserve culture, eradicate poverty and enhance liberty through all our fashion processes. Our designs and garments serve as a driving force to this cause. We tell fashion stories through multi-cultural references and significant historical moments.
We specialise in Akwete – our hand-woven artisanal textile, intricately woven by our team of women at the Emmy Kasbit Initiative empowerment platform.
Emmy Kasbit was founded in 2014, with the sole aim of creating timeless garments and showcasing the Nigerian Sustainable fashion craft to the world.
With our design aesthetic being clean with structured architectural cuts, we use traditional methods, enhanced with sartorial classics to create ageless garments.
We continue to use our signature hand woven Akwete textile to tell stories of our rich culture, by narrating past traditional occurrences.
As a brand, we care about sustainability and the preservation of culture. We continue to grow and engage our team of skilled female artisans at the Emmy Kasbit Initiative artisan hub.
